Turning the usual architectural style of photography on its head, award winning artist Simon Buckley photographs 10 buildings created by 5 Plus Architects – 6 in Manchester and 4 in London at dawn and dusk. He explores the reality of their existence as opposed to the CGI drawing of the architect, where it is perpetual summer and well dressed people walk amongst tree lined streets.
Each section on the buildings contains 6 images, and they are accompanied by a short essay, detailing the experience of making the pictures and what was encountered, and the original concept from 5 Plus Architects.
All proceeds from the sale of the book are being donated to 42nd Street ( http://42ndstreet.org.uk/ ), a Manchester-based charity.
A podcast has been recorded to accompany the launch of the book:
